Team Karma Venture...

Richard and Chris have been friends for 13 years. Both have relished the challenges that life has brought their way and have been successful in their personal lives. They consider that life is short and at times can be mundane and the chance to embark on adventures and challenges should be grabbed with both hands. The chance to do this and make a difference to the lives of people who face the challenge of basic survival on a daily basis is an opportunity they can’t resist. The combined challenge of raising at least £8,500 and to complete an epic drive through torrential terrain in the vast South Indian Western Ghat mountain range in the 37hp Indian car will be their greatest challenge to date.

Chris Chapman, from Saffron Walden is a self employed sound engineer running his own business Threecircles Audio in partnership with friend Adrian Hare. After attending Saffron Walden County High School he went on to study audio and music technology at Anglia Ruskin University Cambridge.

His passion in life is music and, as well as working with musicians in the studio and on stage, he produces his own electronica as well. He is a practitioner of Wing Chun Kung Fu and trains weekly in Saffron Walden and in Cambridge. Other interests include motoring, the cinema and 10 pin bowling.

Chris saw an advert for Karma Enduro in the motoring section of the Telegraph and instantly decided it was an event that fulfilled his desire to take on a life-changing challenge! Driving 2000km across some of the toughest conditions in the world combined with raising £10,000 for charity would provide a serious challenge but one that he knows will be great fun and ultimately rewarding. Chris is pleased that this challenge is not being undertaken alone as Richard, a good friend for over 13 years, accepted the invitation to join him on this journey of a lifetime.

Chris is really looking forward to visiting the people and places that will benefit from this fundraising and also to the challenge to both body and mind that this tough journey will present.
